Publication process
Abstract submission
- In the period announced on the journal page, it is possible to submit the abstract that is to be accepted by the Editorial board
- After that period, it is possible the submit the full text paper, either with previously accepted abstract, or without the acceptance of the abstract
Editorial and review process
Preliminary process:
- All papers are checked with anti-plagiarism software (Crosref Similarity Check – iThenticate or Turnitin or another available software)
Review process:
- All papers that have been checked by the software will be sent to reviews
- All the papers undergo a double-blind review process
- At the beginning, the papers will be sent to 2 reviewers
- In the case of negative review with the evidence of plagiarism, the paper will be rejected. In the case of 2 negative reviews, the paper will also be rejected. It is possible for editors to invite a 3rd reviewer or act on discretion
- In the case of very different reviews or 1 negative review (without the evidence of plagiarism) and 1 positive review, the paper is sent to additional reviewers.
- The paper is corrected according to reviewers’ instructions (usually, but not always, twice).
- In the case of similar reviews but different categorisation, the categorisation will be checked firstly with the reviews, and then, if it is not possible to agree on categorisation, also with additional reviews.
- At the end, all reviews will be informed about the decision on paper publication.
- The reviewer identity is hidden towards the authors but also towards to other reviewers.
- Argumentation in the review explanation must be clear and logical. It must be clear if the review suggests any modification, additions, correction or deletion of parts of the paper. It should also be clearly stated if the review proposes minor changes, for which the author can decide whether to include them.
- With the selected categorisation of the paper, it is necessary to also write a brief explanation on why such category is proposed, and especially for the category of original scientific paper when it has to be described what is the original scientific contribution of the paper.
- Author’s identity is also hidden.
Final approval of publication:
- Editors and editorial board approve the proposed and corrected papers that passed the reviews.
- Editors and editorial board can choose a different categorisation than the one proposed by reviews.
